Banket(9)Dock

Five months since our last show is a rather long time, long enough to introduce something new. We are more than happy to say that we managed to do so even this time.

For the first time there are going to split the show into two parts. One of these you already know since it's the basement room at Dock where we all had such a great time five months ago when we organized our last Banket gig. However, this time we're right in the middle of summer consequently it would be nice not to spend whole night indoors. Therefore moving several floors up at the rooftop seems like an ideal option. That means the first part is going to take place at the roof of the same riverside structure where there is Dock on the ground floor. Unfortunately, we have to limit the rooftop part using guest list meaning that only those who make it to the list through an invitation will be allowed in. It's not due to an effort to make the whole thing exclusive or more hyped but simply due to security reasons since the capacity of the place is quite limited. At least we can promise that the first part is going to be streamed so that everyone can see how it looks there.

However as regards music the basement part is going to be way more important since Mike Corner a Prague-based dj, producer, label owner (Dirty Corner) and presenter at the Wave Radio, who is our main guest is going to take over the basement. To some he may be known as Dj Blue as under this moniker he established himself on the Czech scene in the middle of 90s. He was able to draw attention as the very first Czech participant of Red Bull Music Academy in 1999 or as a resident dj of Roxy club in Prague (1996-1999). Among his other achievements worth mentioning is a 82-hour long dj set he managed to perform in 2004 or him being part of Eclectica crew/Recordings a collective focused on various form of jazz and brokenbeat. Mike Corner described his own music journey for Rave.cz as follows: „My whole music journey has been determined by discovering various forms of black music be it abstract hip-hop in the middle of nineties, brokenbeat and future jazz in the zero decade of the new millennium or Detroit and Chicago sound I'm currently into (although I've been following it in a way all the time). We can only say that we share this perspective since various forms of black music that's what it's all about ♥
